Lead Coaches
Sarah Forshaw
Sarah is the new Henley Stewards Scholarship Coach (HSCT) for the North West and her position will last for the next two years. Her 20 hours coaching each week is shared between JOG and Lancaster Royal Grammar School and 20 hours are dedicated to Master Study at Lancaster University. Sarah began rowing for Lancaster University Boat Club (LUBC) as a novice and progressed to intermediate level in her second year. She was also elected Women’s Captain, leading the women’s four to the quarter finals of Women’s Henley, IM3 at Durham Regatta, as well as achieving a silver medal with her crew at BUCS.
Whilst rowing for the university, Sarah achieved university half colours in her first year and went on to achieve university full colours, as well as team of the year in her second year. Although her experience has been primarily in sweep oar, Sarah is hoping to develop her skills in sculling in her spare time.
As a HSCT coach in Lancaster, Sarah hopes to increase participation in the sport as well as developing junior crews. Part of her work also includes building partnerships between local schools in order to promote rowing to students between 11 and 18 years old.
