On Sunday the 20th November, 2016 four clubs (Lancaster John O’Gaunt Rowing Club, Lancaster University Boat Club, Lancaster Royal Grammar School and Windermere Rowing Club)competed in the Lune Head. Lancaster Schools’ Rowing Association rowed as John O’Gaunt Rowing Club on the day.

Format of racing involved crews racing from the motorway bridge to Skerton; crews set off one at a time. All crews had their times adjusted for age, sex and boat type:

At the end of racing LRGSBC clearly stood above the other crews for top placings in the rankings with their older crews. The following crews won the main categories of racing:

  • 1x winner and fastest handicapped winner: LRGSBC
  • 1x women’s winner: JOG
  • 2x/- winner: LRGSBC
  • 4x/- winner: LRGSBC
  • 4x+/+ winner: LUBC
  • 8+ winner: LUBC

We are aiming to run the event again last year but as a BR event.
