Paul Janson
Club President
Pauline Janson has been President of Lancaster John O’Gaunt Rowing Club since 2012. Although not regularly seen at day-to-day training sessions, she remains an important and valued figure within the club.
Pauline began rowing while studying at University of Oxford and went on to represent Great Britain at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow. She also competed at the World Rowing Championships in the early 1980s, building an impressive international career defined by resilience and determination.
Following her competitive rowing career, Pauline moved into education and leadership roles, bringing those same qualities of dedication and integrity to her involvement in the sport. As President, she provides continuity with the club’s history and a link to the wider rowing community. Her achievements at the highest level of the sport remain a source of pride for the club and an inspiration to members of all ages.
