First race was Oliver Tidswell in a single, He got through to the semi final then was knocked out in a close race with a Northwich rower who went on to lose in the final by 2 lengths to a Grange brute.

Second race was Josh Mapp and Roman Robert Garry Bell in a novice double who got into the final and rowed against a Northwich J18 crew. They went on to win by a distance of 1 1/2 lengths (which according to Josh was ‘bare distance’) and so have two medals to bring home.

After withering in the hot afternoon sun for 5 hours the J16 quad consisting of Danny Kingcox, Joe Unwin, Cameron Stuart and Oliver Tidswell they went into a straight final with Northwich’s best and unfortunately lost the race by 1 1/2 lengths. This was according to josh (an expert in his field) a result unfortunately caused by a loose thinga-ma-giggery.

The final race of the day was a J14 double of Lewis MacPherson and Sam Gelder who got through in into the final and lost by 1 length.

Overall we all had fun and in Josh’s words ‘banter levels were high’.
